About Us

Santiago Torres & John Ogden started True Family Auto Repair in December of 1998 when working out of their North Lake garage got too cold. But seriously, Santiago and John saw a need in the area for a quality auto repair shop with integrity, so they rented a shop, offering general auto repair and truck transport services.

Twelve years down the road, Santiago and John decided to go their separate ways. John kept the transport business, and Santiago took the mechanic shop. However, as the mechanic shop had grown significantly, there was a need to move to a larger facility, which Santiago did, to our current location at 1621 N. 31st Avenue in Melrose Park, where we have six bays and a clean, comfortable office with waiting area.

True Family Auto Repair has been proudly serving the Melrose Park community and surrounding areas since 1998, providing honest, high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services you can trust. Founded by Santiago Torres and John Ogden, the business began humbly in a small North Lake garage, born from a shared passion for cars and a genuine desire to help others. When the garage became too cold to work in, Santiago and John decided to take a leap of faith—renting a small shop and officially launching True Family Auto Repair.
